Part of London Book and Screen Week, the Blues and a special guest will introduce the 1975 classic, which was adapted from Joan Lindsey's 1968 novel.

During a rural summer picnic, a few students and a teacher from an Australian girls' school vanish without a trace. The film is one of the most celebrated films in Australian cinema - think Blair Witch meets Stepford Wives.

As part of our celebration of ‘The Accomplished Mrs Boscawen’, the Bluestocking Club are bringing their discussions to Hatchlands. Enjoy a screening in the Music Room of A Cock and Bull Story, the 2005 movie adaptation of the 1759 novel, The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman.

Bring the family to enjoy Disney's 2017 live-action version of Beauty and the Beast. Adapted from the traditional French fairy-tale first published in 1740, it's possible the bluestocking salons discussed this tale in their London homes. Original screenwriter Linda Woolverton wrote Belle with the intention of creating a feminist icon, helping to stem criticism of Disney over perceived weak female characters.
